Online therapy gives you options.

  • Stuck at the office?

  • Busy traveling for work?

  • Want to meet from the privacy of your own home?

  • On a break between classes?

Whatever your reasons, online therapy makes all this possible and more.

Common questions about online therapy:

  • No. Unlike text therapy, which limits you to back-and-forth messaging and can often feel impersonal, online therapy gives you the same dedicated face-to-face support you would get in person. Imagine being able to work through crippling anxiety from your office—right before that big meeting or presentation. Or picture yourself being able to process through deep hurts from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

  • Teletherapy with an online therapist is conducted through a secure, HIPAA compliant, online video platform (similar to Skype or FaceTime). So as long as you live in California, all you'll have to do is simply log into the virtual office at the time of your appointment. This means you get to skip the traffic and cozy up in your favorite chair while you meet with me.

  • Some people express fears that online therapy might lack the connection you'd expect to feel when you meet in person. This is understandable and makes sense, especially given that much of our online interactions are colored by the lens of social media and in its impact on authentic connection.

It's good to keep in mind that online therapy is just a space. Connection happens when there is freedom to be who you are, without fear of judgement.

In fact, research shows that telehealth is just as effective as in-person appointments, allowing you to access quality care from wherever it's most convenient for you.
